St Martin de Porres, Queen of Peace, Point Cook

Location: Home

Welcome to the Parish of Laverton Web Sit, incorporating the Catholic Communities of Laverton, Altona Meadows and Point Cook.

The Parish of Laverton is a vibrant and growing community, situated in the Western Region of Melbourne and is a part of the Westgate Deanery.

From our humble begins in 1968 with a church/school set up in Laverton we have grown into a Parish with 3 Mass Centres, 5 Primary Schools and a co-ed Secondary College

2016 sees a change in one of our Mass Centres. On Sunday January 31st we will celebrate our last Mass in the RAAF Chapel. As of Sunday 7th February our 9am Mass will be at Stella Maris School Hall in Hassett St Point Cook.

This move marks the beginning of journey towards the building of a Church for the Point Cook Community. The establishment of this worship community at Stella Maris is essential to determining the kind of Church we will eventually build.

Another important aspect of parish life for us this year will be the Stewardship Program that will run thru May and the beginning of June. This program will enable us to better plan for the future with our hopes and dreams, the sharing of our gifts and talents with our Parish Community and to update the financial contribution that comes through the Sunday collection.

I am delighted to have the privileged of being your leader of worship and to work with all parishioners as we journey in the footsteps of Christ. I invite you to explore our website for more information.

With every blessing

Fr John Healy
